Interdenominational Child Protection Panel

We are a Registered Body since 2003, working through the medium of Welsh for the Presbyterian Church of Wales, the Union of Welsh Independents and the Baptist Union of Wales. We are now expanding our work, having attained the status of an Umbrella Body. We are able to work on behalf of agencies who wish to apply for disclosures through the medium of Welsh or English. We have relevant policies in place, and are able to discuss all aspects of the work with Welsh speakers in order to forge good working relationships.

The Process between ourselves and our clients:

  1. Forming a contract between the Panel and the external Agency

  1. Upon receipt of an application by the Organisation/Company to the Panel, a form is sent from the Office to the Volunteer / Member of Staff

  1. It is then the responsibility of the Organisation/Company to ensure that the form is completed and returned, duly countersigned, to the Office

  1. The Panel will ensure that one or more persons within the Organisation/Company have been trained to check the forms

  1. We offer training to Organisations/Companies who will be using the Umbrella Body, in accordance with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Code of Practice, the Policy Statement on secure storage, handling, retention and disposal of Disclosures and related information, and the Policy Statement on Recruiting Ex-offenders

  1. Upon receipt of the application form, the Office staff are responsible for checking it, and correcting any mistakes

  1. The Lead Signatory, Rev. Meirion Morris signs and completes Section Y, prior to sending the form to the CRB.

  1. The only persons who receive a Disclosure from the CRB are the Applicant and the Lead Signatory

  1. The Lead Signatory transfers the Disclosure to an authorised person within the Organisation / Company for whom we act as a Registered Body

  1. The Panel will not process any forms unless full payment is included with the application form

  1. It is the Panel’s responsibility to transfer payment monies to the CRB.

  1. Following receipt of the Disclosure, responsibility with regard to recruiting lies with the Organisation / Company, not with the Panel

  1. In the event of a blemished disclosure in respect of a Volunteer / Member of Staff who applied through the Umbrella Body, the Panel will not offer advice to the Organisation / Company
