Welcome to the Interdenominational Protection Panel Website The Panel was established in 2001 when the child protection policy ‘For the Sake of Our Children’ was introduced. The three denominations which consist of the Presbyterian Church of Wales, Union of Welsh Independents and the Baptist Union of Wales decided to work together in order to produce a safeguarding policy within the churches. Safeguarding children/youth and vulnerable adults is seen as an integral part of our day to day duties as we are a Registered Body with the CRB. It is our responsibility to check the suitability of Ministers/Staff and Volunteers through the Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure process. We are able to provide this service in the Welsh or English language. In 2008 we expanded our duties to become an Umbrella Body as well as a Registered Body, this enables us to provide disclosures for Organisations and Agencies who are not members of our denominations.
